Welcome to the website for the Outflows 2019 Workshop taking place in Amsterdam NL, from 1-3 July 2019. The goal of the workshop is to bring together 50 experts on the subjects of :
- Disk winds
- Outflows at extremes of accretion: the propeller and super-Eddington regimes
We aim to cover all stellar-mass accreting compact objects (i.e. black holes, neutron stars, white dwarfs), and cover both observations and theory/simulations. Each subject will be covered by a number of invited (review) talks of 30 min each, for which we have attracted junior researchers (postdoc/junior faculty level). There will also be room for a few 15-20 min contributed talks on each subject (open to researchers of any level). In addition to talks, every meeting day will include time for breakouts, as well as moderated discussion (1 hour) facilitated by senior researchers in the field. See the participants tab for confirmed participants, including speakers and discussion moderators.
Apart from the science program, we will have social program that includes a welcome reception at the Amsterdam brewery “Brouwerij het IJ” and a conference dinner at “Dignita Hoftuin”. Check out our website for additional information on the venue, lodging and travel options.
Registration details were send out in April 2019. If you confirmed to attend the workshop but have not received an e-mail about registration, please get in touch. The registration fee of 125 euro and includes lunch and coffee/tea breaks, as well as the welcome reception and conference dinner.
